We are honored to remember many of our dearest furry friends who are no longer with us, and to share their stories with you. If you have had a Cat Corner kitty who has passed away we would be glad to include them as well; you can email us and our web person will contact you about adding your friend to our Rainbow Bridge page.

Fraiser
Fraiser crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 17 June 2010 after being diagnosed with kidney and liver disease. Fraiser and his sister Gwynn came to live at The Cat Corner in 2001. They were part of a feral cat colony located in Phoebus and were trapped at that location. Fraiser claimed a cat tree on the sun porch and lived there with his many friends. We were never able to pet or handle him but he was a part of our Cat Corner family. His sponsor would visit him frequently and he will be missed by all his fans.
Amber
Sweet little Amber came to The Cat Corner in October 1999 after being trapped at Keith's restaurant in Hampton. She quickly made many furry friends on the sun porch with whom she remained life-long friends. She remained a bit timid around humans but eventually warmed up enough to enjoy being petted at times. She spent her last night snuggled up with 4 of her porch buddies. Unfortunately, complications from IBS took its toll on her health, causing her to cross the Rainbow Bridge on May 19, 2010. Amber will be missed by all of her friends at The Cat Corner.
Precious Cat
Precious Cat came to The Cat Corner after losing her caretakers of 10 years. Her sweet shyness quickly won the hearts of many but of one volunteer in particular. After a few months she found her a new forever home with many new brothers and sisters; but it was to be for only a short time. After 15 months, Precious was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma and lost her battle with cancer and thus crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on April 30, 2010. She is missed very much every day.
Wellsley
Wellsley came to us from the streets. He was sort of rag tag and very hungry. One of our volunteers rescued him and he moved into Cat Corner. Wellsley was a senior citizen when we found him and he had a number of health issues but he adjusted to life at Cat Corner. He was a favorite of a number of our volunteers and they spoiled him with lots of attention and special treats. Wellsley always loved to eat and when he stopped eating, we knew something was wrong. He was diagnosed with advanced kidney failure and we had to send him over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday 18 Dec 2009. We are glad we were able give him this special care and attention in the final months of his life.
Mackerel
Our friend, Mackerel, crossed the Rainbow Bridge peacefully on 7 Dec 2009. He leaves behind many friends who will miss him greatly. Mackerel became a member of the Cat Corner family when he and his brother joined one of our feral cat colonies. He lived happily in the colony until he became ill and had to be relocated into The Cat Corner. Although he was cured, he continued to stay inside because his back legs were not strong enough for him to survive outside. He was reunited with some of his former pals and soon settled into The Cat Corner routine. He achieved a certain measure of status when he became a member of "The Breakfast Bunch" and was allowed to come into the kitchen to eat in the morning. As he aged, it became difficult for him to get around. He adjusted to his condition and never let it stop him from getting around, climbing and being with his friends. Finally, his condition worsened to the point where we had to tell him good-by. Mackerel was a very special kitty to so many. We're glad we had the opportunity to be a part of his life.
